CubeSmart is a real estate investment trust that invests in self storage facilities. As of December 31, 2019, it owned 523 self-storage properties in 24 states and the District of Columbia containing 36.6 million rentable square feet. It is the 4th largest self-storage company in the United States.The company was known as U-Store-It Trust until 2011.

CubeSmart has been a target of short sellers for a while. The current short interest of 3.73% is roughly at the average of the last 12 months (3.10%).
